TESTING POST: SNOWY PARTY TIME

Ahh Hinoto-Ri. City of lights, questionable wards, the 13th Hour and Personas.

SCENARIO 1
We hope you arrived in warm clothing because if not you'll sure be in for a surprise!

Hinoto-Ri is covered in snow! First you show up in a strange new place and now you're freezing cold. Maybe it's just a dream? But...you remember the man who said you were here as a special guest...don't you? Is this the city you're supposed to save?

SCENARIO 2
But tonight, there's a very old time feeling. That's right, there's a party!

It seems some demons got their hands on older musical classics. As you walk the streets tonight, you'll find the city getting into it, complete with outfits and dancing demons.

...what a way to first show up. But is this just a dream? You remember the man who said you were here as a special guest...don't you? You just hope he didn't mean some sort of dancing contest...

Try out your potentials and interact with the city around you! We'll supply some NPCs once in a while when you least expect it (after all have to test those out too, right?)]]

[For those of you familiar with Kairi, she looks much different than what you may be used to. The Kairi you may see wandering about the streets is, first of all, much paler than usual, completely missing her usual deep island tan, as well as much more toned and physically fit than one would expect from her. Kairi's arms and legs are also riddled with scars, burns, and a couple of still healing cuts, as if she had ended up in several fights. Her hair is also much longer and kept back in a ponytail, with her bangs constantly having to be swept back out of her eyes. The most noteworthy thing, however, is the black metal collar fitted perfectly around her neck, completely seamless with no obvious way of removal. Engraved on the collar is a number which would hold no obvious meaning. For those of you who have never seen her before, she is nothing more than an extremely confused teenaged girl who could really use some help.
Now, where will you find her?]

Scenario One;

Kairi was certainly not prepared for cold weather. In fact, it had been about a year since she'd experienced any real weather at all. She was dressed in a tanktop and capri pants with worn down sneakers, and shivering quite fiercely as the snow fell down around her. Rubbing her arms rapidly to try to generate some heat, she darts her eyes around in the hopes of finding some place to duck into until she figures out just what to do. Was this some sort of spur the the moment F3 trip? Couldn't have been, the week hadn't even finished yet...

Scenario Two;

Kairi didn't know what to be more confused about-- this odd place she had found herself in, or the mere fact she had even been able to find herself here in the first place. The last thing that she remembered was the station being invaded by Skrulls, and everything generally being in mass chaos. She had been injured in the fights, but that wasn't why she had started feeling weak. Kairi had begun to feel sick and drowsy, as if she was about to collapse... no, she did collapse. Just like the victims of clone sickness did. Yet here she was in this new place, after some weird dream where she talked to a man about some sort of destiny and a new power, instead of waking up from the pods after a nice nap like what normally happened... Had she escaped? If she had, this was certainly quite the welcome party she'd found herself in. Sidestepping a dancing pair of demons with a wary eye, she peers around curiously, trying to find someone a little more sane to talk to.

[Older than either Kairi she had met before, actually. Kairi was not older than four the last time she'd seen her in their own worlds, and she was fourteen in the city of dreams. And yet as she walked with her heavy winter coat and Light knew how many sweaters on, she couldn't help but recognize the head of red hair, however much longer it was now.

Thus there's only a moment of pausing before she calls out.]

Kairi? ...Kairi!

[Mother mode: on. Why are you standing out here in such cold weather and what is with that black collar. (and have a coat) D:]

[She recognized that voice...]

A-A-A-q-q-qua?

[Her teeth are chattering violently as she turns to find the source of the voice, wide eyes landing on the other girl.]

I-i-i-is that y-you?

Yes, it's me.

[Though which "me" is likely unanswered. Have a coat. :c]

Are you alright?

[ Rose was also unprepared for the cold. Wonderland was warm, occasionally rainy, but never snowy. And although she had a myriad of blankets, scarves and hats knitted and stuffed in the crevasses of her mattress back in her dorm at home, none of those were here with her now. So she's stuck in her entirely weather inappropriate frilly Alice in Wonderland dress, clutching at her arms to try and warm them up.

Thankfully, she spots another girl who seems to be in similar shape just ahead of her. ]

Maybe we should find somewhere nicer than this. What do you say?

[Turning to look at the younger girl with surprise, she nods in agreement. Kairi didn't remember seeing her before, but she likely hadn't noticed in her desperate attempt to locate some sort of building or restaurant that looked open.]

Good idea. I think I see someplace warm up ahead!

[ Rose had gotten herself thoroughly lost after the initial meeting, and hadn't noticed anyone else before she scurried off. ]

Do you? I haven't been in a place like this in a long time.

[There is a small blond girl approaching quickly, excessively bundled up against the weather to the point where she looks like a giant waddling puffball of jackets. It's apparent that she's heading right towards Kairi. As soon as she gets close enough she throws her arms around the redhead's neck, touching the collar.]

Oh Light-- Kairi.

[Naminé is gasping with emotion, warm tears running down her cheeks.]

I knew you were here, I could sense it, I could feel you shivering-- I've missed you.

Naminé!

[Light, how had she not noticed her presence before now?! She must've been much too preoccupied trying to find someplace warm to have the thought even occur to her...]

I only just saw you a moment ago, didn't I? Where are we?

[The sentence is riddled with her teeth chattering, whole body shivering with the cold temperature.]

No, we...

[The question hurts more than it should, and she reluctantly pulls away, rubbing at her eyes. She wants to tell her everything. But here isn't the place to do it. So she contents herself with the fact that Kairi is here for the foreseeable future, and turns her attention to warming her up instead. She starts shedding off her jackets and handing them over.]

We're in a city called Hinoto-Ri. I have a lot to catch you up on, but let's go to my apartment first, okay?

[She holds out a hand, and a Corridor of Darkness opens up before them.]

[The confusion on her face is evident, but she doesn't question Naminé's decision to move them before they chat. Kairi happily accepts the jacket with no objections, holding it around herself tightly as her teeth continue to chatter. She really hoped this excursion in the cold wouldn't land her with a bad cold-- her body had enough to deal with already.]

Alright, let's go.

[She gently grasps the other girls hand, giving her a small reassuring squeeze, before moving to walk into the portal.]

[She gives Kairi's hand a squeeze back and walks in after her. Naminé's apartment appears on the other side, warm and cozy.]

I'll go get some blankets and make some tea. You can go into my room and change into some dry clothes, and then we can talk.

[Naminé pauses after she speaks, taking another good look at Kairi before giving her a tearful smile.]

I'm so glad you're here.

[She smiles back, trying to send Naminé as many warm feelings as possible.]

I'm glad to be here, too.

[And she couldn't help but feel a little hopeful that they weren't the only two here. Maybe the rest of their friends have escaped to this new place as well, where their collars were deactivated and there was nothing but real sky above them and real ground below them... Though she was still confused on how they got here, or whether that dream she had before she woke up in the snow was real or not.]

I'll be right back.

[It doesn't take her long to identify the door to Naminé's room, considering how small the apartment was. Stripping down out of her wet clothes, Kairi borrows a few extra clothes hangers from the other girls closet to carefully hang up her own (don't wanna get the floor wet, after all), and picks out the first clothing item to catch her attention, a simple sun dress. She slips the jacket back on over her shoulders once she's done changing, and pulls the rubber-band out of her hair as she walks back into the main living area, fingers running through to try and pry apart the frozen locks.]

[By the time Kairi comes back, the tea is ready, along with some muffins that had been warmed in the microwave. Nami is sitting on the couch, intently watching her bedroom door as if afraid that Kairi might somehow disappear if she doesn't. When her other steps out, she visibly relaxes.]

[She sits down next to Naminé, curling her feet under her and smiling reassuringly.]

Don't worry, I'm still here.

[She places a hand on the other girls, squeezing softly.]

I guess I have a lot to catch up on, huh?

[She grips Kairi's hand in hers, nodding slowly. It will be a monumental task, getting Kairi caught up, but they have time to take it slow.]

You have no idea.

I guess I should start from the beginning. Which, for you, was when you left. [She takes in a deep breath.] When you said it was just a moment ago since you saw me-- that moment for me was was half a year ago. You were terminated on your birthday.

[Xion was at work, checking the window to make sure they were tidy. A lady with three dogs had been through earlier, and while they were friendly they'd also been enthusiastic, knocking over a few displays. It's when she glances up however, and sees someone she knows she recognizes... though there's something very different here. The burns and scars are concerning enough and Xion knows it's way too cold outside.

She hurriedly tells her boss she wants to take her break now, sprinting to grab her jacket from the break room before running outside. She looks around, hoping she hasn't gotten too far.]

Kairi!

[Thankfully for Xion, Kairi hadn't gotten very much farther since she spotted her. She had begun to slow down as the cold ran deeper and deeper in her bones, whole body visibly shaking as she attempted to increase her body temperature by running her hands up and down her arms to cause some friction. Her head jerks up and around when she hears Xion's voice, trying to find the source.]

Shi?

[That had to be Xion, it obviously couldn't have been herself she was hearing...]

[Xion lets out a sigh of relief, making her breath fog up in the cold air. She runs the last few steps towards Kairi and, after taking in her appearance properly, trying to give Kairi her coat, even wrap it around her herself if Kairi will let her.

Always looking after others before herself, though to be fair Kairi looked like she'd been outside for a while, while Xion had been inside and was still wearing warmer clothes.]

A-are you okay? Did you just get here?

[Well, if she's looking for sane, and wants that with a bonus side of very familiar, she may be in luck! Sora happens to be in the same area, wandering around doing...well, not much of anything, really. Mostly, he just wanted to get out of the apartments, and, after all, the only way he's going to get to really know this world is if he keeps exploring it.

Though they sometimes still catch his eye, Sora's had a lot more time to get used to the strange demons everywhere - especially since he was never the sort to really be bother by being surrounded by things that aren't human anyway - so it doesn't take long for his eyes to settle on something much more familiar. It does take him a second to make sure, since she looks a bit different with that collar and her hair pulled back, but of course he recognizes her. How could he not?

So, whether she's noticed him or not, guess who's headed her way?]
